Changelog

What's new in Selfime.

New features, thoughtful improvements and fixes for your personal meditation deck.

Latest update

v1.1

Voices, sharing and a faster deck.

Selfime 1.1 brings new voices, tape sharing and a faster deck.

Listen to a practice

Listen to built-in guide readings, or have your device read a practice aloud. Choose a voice when you start Read-Along and adjust its speed beside the pace control. You can also press a practice straight to tape in your chosen voice, without recording it yourself.

Send a tape

Share a tape through Messages or another app. The recipient can open it in Selfime and choose whether to add it to their library. Your journal stays private and is never included.

Read along with your own voice

Turn off narration and follow the words while listening to a tape you recorded. You can also keep adding to your journal while Side B is showing.

Edit with more control

Your selected take now shows its trimmer straight away. A magnifier helps you see where you are trimming, and slower dragging gives you finer control. Pauses between cards count down during preview, with clearer, better-aligned playback controls.

Pick up where you left off

Selfime offers to continue an existing draft and prevents duplicates from piling up. When you discard a recording, choose whether to archive or delete it.

Save and share faster

Saving and sharing long tapes is much quicker. Playback meters and on-device transcription use fewer resources, too.

And a few more improvements

  • Long-press a tape in your library to open its actions.
  • The library’s default view is now called Active, making it clear that archived tapes are hidden.
  • Clearer Health and speech permission prompts help you find the right setting.
  • If your library cannot be opened, you can keep a copy before starting fresh.
  • More fixes and layout improvements across iOS and Android.

Initial release

v1.0

Your personal meditation deck.

The first release of Selfime: a private space to record meditations in your own voice and return to them whenever you need.

  • Start with a guided practice or write your own script, then record it one card at a time.
  • Make each tape your own with cassette colours, labels and background ambience.
  • Follow a practice with Read-Along, breathe with a visual guide, and keep a personal journal.
  • Save a message for later with sealed tapes in Future Me.
  • Keep your library encrypted on your device, with no account, ads or analytics.
